WiFi won't reconnect on its own

My device connects fine to my WiFi after a power cycle, but if the WiFi goes down (router reboot) and WiFi comes back up then Tidbyt will not reconnect to WiFi on its own (100% reproducible). Its just stuck on the TIDBYT animation screen.

I have to physically power cycle the Tidbyt for it to reconnect after it was connected and the WiFi goes away/comes back.
Running ASUS AIMesh 2.4Ghz

Any ideas?

Does your WiFi go down that often ? This is common with esp32 chips because they boot much quicker than a WiFi hotspot after a power outage. But ideally the tidbyt would reboot itself after a certain amount of time spinning like that.

I’m seeing something similar. I’ve got two gen1 devices. The one downstairs (six feet closer to the WiFi AP) is fine. The one upstairs was losing its marbles and getting stuck in the repeated TIDBYT animation screen. Seemed to happen every night through the first half of December, but the frequency has decreased to less than once per week. No loss of WiFi noted on any other devices.

Annoying because the one having issues is next to the bed and normally goes into the dimmer time-only display during sleeping hours – having the bright animation display is unwelcome.

I manually reboot my router/network once or twice a month. There is no power outage, just a WiFi outage.
