Steam app returning error 429 (Too Many Requests)

The Steam app has stopped working for me in the last few days, and returns error 429 (Too Many Requests)

I’ve tried uninstalling the app, waiting for a few days to avoid making any further requests, then reinstalling, but it’s still returning the same error. Is anyone else having the same issue?

I noticed that the configuration screen only lets us specify our Steam ID. I wonder whether perhaps that means we’re all using a single Steam API Key for our requests, and the app has become too popular?

I’ll be able to take a look next week - but yeah, you’re correct. Let me email Steam and see if there’s anything they can do to increase the allowed number of requests (or of the API has changed).
