It would be cool to see the lyrics of songs as they play. I know Spotify does this in its desktop app. Is it part of their API? Could it be a Tidbyt app?
The tidbyt doesn’t update get enough I would think.
Spotify uses a service called Musixmatch for that:
It’s a paid service, they have the lyrics with the time information, and that’s how Spotify is able to show it synced to the music.
They do have a free API, but it’s very limited and it doesn’t return the sync data for the music.
