Hi. I’d like to put a Tidbyt in my office but for security reasons I can’t connect it to the Wi-Fi network here. I was considering getting a MiFi to use just for the Tidbyt, but before I do I was wondering if anyone knows how big a data hog they are, typically. My guess is that it’s pretty light, depending on what apps are installed. Does anyone have any real life data?

Unfortunately it’s hard to give you an exact figure because it’s highly variable based on how many apps you have, how much data they show, etc. In really general terms you can expect around 10 to 20 megabytes per day. But again it’s highly variable.

Thanks. That’s close enough. I can get 1gb/mo from Karma for $10/mo. I’ll set it up on a smart plug so that it’s off nights and weekends. Should be plenty but I’ll see how it works.
That should almost certainly work. We had a marketing unit setup with Solis WiFi ($6/mo for 1 GB) and it never ran out of data.
