Tidbyt’s Calendar applet lets you connect to your Google Calendar. Once installed, it’ll show you name and time of the next event, and while an event is in progress it’ll display how much time is remaining.

Will this also work with microsoft outlet?
The current integration is Google Calendar only. I’ve looked into adding support for Microsoft Office, looks like it would be a little bit of a pain due to the complexity of Microsoft’s API, but it’s doable.
