Clock: Set Locally

Can anyone make a clock you can set, or adjust manually? That why you can set it a few minutes ahead of time. Some people like to set their clocks earlier as a method to stay on time to things. 2-3 minutes usually ahead, or even behind if that would be useful to anyone.

Each clock app gets the time it displays from the server (adjusted for time zone, etc). In order for any clock app to display an offset time (ahead or behind) the app would need a “offset time by X minutes” feature added. It wouldn’t be necessarily be difficult to do but it’d have to be added to whatever clock app you want to see it in. I doubt Tidbyt themselves would be willing to add a universal “offset all times for me by X minutes” for all apps you install.

Which clock do you want to have this feature ?

Just a general observation, but I’ve never understood why anyone would set their clock five minutes ahead to fool themselves into being on time. It merely puts you into a mind frame where you tell yourself “Oh, that clock’s five minutes ahead so I don’t have to worry yet.” This is fine until someone else sets the clock for you. It’s better to tell yourself “I need to be there at six, but I’m always late so I should plan on being there at five fifty-five.” Then you can use whatever clock you encounter and you don’t have to rely on the crutch of having some clocks five minutes ahead to try to fool you into thinking you have more time.

Bite the bullet. Set your clocks to the correct time and plan accordingly.

Of course, if you’ve got a significant other who’s always 30 minutes late so you set all the clocks they may see 40 minutes ahead so you’ve got a chance of making an appointment on time then it’s a different story – but they’re going to catch on pretty quickly and realize they’ve got another 40 minutes. It’s a no-win situation.
